Drug Bust in Cap-Haitian: Anti Narcotics Brigade Apprehends Four Bahamians for Drug Trafficking

November 23, 2024

On Monday, November 18, 2024, a targeted operation by the Anti-Narcotics Brigade (BLTS) of Haiti’s National Police (PNH) led to the arrest of four Bahamian nationals in a Cap-Haïtien locality. The individuals, identified as Wendel Fleurena (31), Reynaldo Filme (38), Demetrio Mcphee (39), and Arlington Colebroock (61), were intercepted while traveling toward Labadee on a tricycle.

The operation resulted in the seizure of five kilograms of cocaine, $3,380 in cash, and four mobile phones, confirming suspicious activities. The suspects are now in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.

This arrest reflects the PNH’s intensified efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the country. It also highlights regional challenges, as the Bahamas recently pledged support in combating insecurity in Haiti, including deploying a military contingent to assist local authorities.
