A 23-year-old American missionary, Maylon Foshee, is facing federal prosecution in the United States for alleged acts of sexual exploitation of minors during several stays in Haiti. Originally from Mansfield, Louisiana, he is targeted by a criminal complaint filed on September 22, 2026, following an investigation by the FBI.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the young man traveled to Haiti between 2023 and 2026 as part of his activities within a missionary organization based in Gonaïves. He is accused of committing unlawful sexual acts on several minors under his care, some of whom lived at his residence or received financial support from him.
In August 2026, three minors were interviewed by investigators and reported alleged instances of sexual abuse occurring while they were hosted or supervised by the missionary. If convicted, Maylon Foshee faces up to 30 years in federal prison.
The case is being prosecuted under Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative dedicated to combating child sexual abuse and exploitation. American authorities recall, however, that the charges against the defendant do not constitute a declaration of guilt and that he is presumed innocent until a final judicial determination is made.
