January 31, 2025

In an interview with TV5 Monde, Lesly Voltaire, President of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), announced that Haiti’s general elections are scheduled for November 15, 2025. This date has been confirmed by the Provisional Electoral Council (PEC), which has also set the constitutional referendum for May 11, 2025.

Voltaire emphasized the importance of these elections in restoring political stability in Haiti. He stated, “The date is set around November 15, 2025. Power must be transferred to an elected president on February 7, 2026.” This announcement comes amid a security crisis, with gangs maintaining control over large parts of the Haitian capital.

During his meeting with Voltaire, French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to strengthen France’s support for Haiti in the areas of security, education, and energy, underscoring the importance of international assistance during this critical period.
