On November 28, 2024, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé held a meeting with members of the Steering Committee of the National Conference to assess progress on constitutional revision and the development of a national vision. The discussions emphasized the importance of strengthening Haiti’s democratic and institutional foundations through inclusive dialogue with all sectors of society. The Prime Minister commended the Committee’s efforts, highlighting the critical role of this initiative in Haiti’s national renewal.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the advancements made in preparing for the upcoming elections, an essential step toward restoring political stability. The constitutional revision process, officially initiated by the Committee, is based on broad consultations that include political parties, academics, feminist organizations, and community leaders. The Prime Minister’s Office reiterated that these efforts aim to equip the country with a legal framework tailored to current challenges, ensuring more inclusive and representative governance.

The government reaffirmed that the transition is anchored on three fundamental pillars: restoring security nationwide, constitutional reform, and the organization of free and transparent elections. The Prime Minister’s Office emphasized that this approach, carried out in close collaboration with the Steering Committee, is designed to rebuild trust between institutions and citizens. Prime Minister Fils Aimé stressed that adhering to electoral deadlines remains a top priority during this transitional period.

The Prime Minister’s Office also noted that the government continues to mobilize support from international partners to assist in this critical transition. The success of the ongoing reforms relies on the collective involvement of political, economic, and social stakeholders. In this context, the Prime Minister’s Office underscored the importance of maintaining a coordinated and inclusive approach to address the challenges facing the country.

The statement concluded with a call for shared responsibility and broad mobilization to ensure the success of this transition.
