A serious accident occurred this Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Pèlerin 9, in the commune of Pétion-Ville, involving two armored vehicles of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission. The tragedy claimed the lives of at least two people, including a motorcyclist, and left several others seriously injured.

According to witnesses at the scene, the armored vehicles were circulating in the neighborhood when a mechanical incident led to a risky maneuver. Under these circumstances, the vehicles overturned, striking civilians and causing casualties.

The Mission confirmed the accident in a statement, acknowledging victims among civilians as well as within its own ranks. Three Kenyan police officers were among the seriously injured, having been directly impacted when the vehicles overturned.
