Alix Didier Fils-Aimé Mobilizes International Partners for Lasting Security and Credible Elections

June 29, 2025

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, the Steering Committee for the Joint Support Program to the Haitian National Police (HNP) held its second session on Thursday, June 26, at the Montana Hotel. The meeting brought together key international partners alongside senior officials from the HNP and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Head of Government expressed his gratitude to the allies committed to the country’s stability. “The fight against insecurity is our top priority,” he emphasized, calling for coordinated efforts to strengthen the resources of the HNP.

Beyond reviewing ongoing projects—modernized police stations, training programs, and equipment—the Prime Minister reminded attendees that these initiatives are part of a broader national strategy. He outlined a roadmap centered on restoring peace, constitutional reform, and holding transparent elections.

United Nations representatives, including María Isabel Salvador and Xavier Michon, praised the progress made but stressed the urgent need for increased financial support. Police authorities in attendance also emphasized “the importance of rigorous and transparent management tailored to local realities.”

In closing, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s guiding principle: “We will spare no effort to make security effective and sustainable.” He concluded by stating that the success of this mission is inseparable from the restoration of popular sovereignty through the ballot box.
