The Haitian National Police (HNP) has intensified its operations in the commune of Arcahaie, aimed at countering the activities of criminal gangs attempting to spread terror among the population. According to reports, PNH officers, supported by specialized units, are conducting targeted actions in the area to restore order and security.
These operations, part of a broader strategy to strengthen law enforcement in this sensitive region, have led to the deaths of about 15 active gang members. Other criminals, overwhelmed by the intensity of the police interventions, were forced to flee, leaving the area under increased control of the authorities.
The operation, which is still ongoing, is being carried out in close collaboration with the local population through the initiative Marriage between Police and Population (MPP). This program, focused on fostering cooperation between civilians and security forces, has helped secure valuable intelligence that has been instrumental in locating gang hideouts and conducting targeted interventions.
The PNH has also reiterated its commitment to combating large-scale banditry, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in achieving this goal. The population of Arcahaie has become increasingly involved in efforts to rid the region of criminal groups, which further strengthens the authorities’ resolve to continue these operations until peace is fully restored.
While the situation remains tense in some parts of the country, the results achieved in Arcahaie reflect the HNP’s strong determination to protect civilians and put an end to the violence perpetrated by gangs.
