Haitian social media has been in shock since Saturday, September 5, 2026, after the circulation of a video showing the particularly violent murder of a young woman presented under the name Baby Love. In the images, individuals associated with the 400 Mawozo gang attack the victim using machetes, while a woman identified as Thomas, alias “Nice B,” also appears in the scene.
The video, whose content is extremely violent, notably shows Nice B participating in the attack and uttering a phrase in Creole asking that the young woman’s head be struck. According to the information accompanying the images, the crime would be linked to a dispute between the two women, presented as having previously been very close.
The case reportedly dates back to the circulation, on social media, of images of Nice B taken without her knowledge while she was in the entourage of the gang leader known as Lanmò 100 jou. Nice B allegedly reproached Baby Love for having contributed to the publication of these images and for thus exposing her publicly on the internet.
The controversy quickly grew on TikTok, where several content creators appeared with Nice B during livestreams in order to profit from the attention generated by her appearance in networks associated with gangs. Some internet users defended her, while others challenged her to leave the place where she was doing her livestreams, in the stronghold of Lanmò 100 jou, to demonstrate that she had no ties to the armed groups.
The circulation of this new video now gives a criminal dimension to a controversy that, until then, had mainly fueled debates on social media. The exact circumstances of Baby Love’s death, the identity of all the perpetrators and the individual responsibilities in this murder remain, however, to be established by the competent authorities, beyond the elements visible in the video and the information accompanying it.
For now, the public prosecutor’s office near the Court of First Instance of Croix-des-Bouquets has asked the police authorities to search for and apprehend Esther Thomas, alias “Nice B,” as part of the investigation into the death of Baby Love. The Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) then published a wanted notice against her for murder, attempted murder and criminal association.
