The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP in French) announces the launch of the accreditation process for electoral observers and journalists called to cover the upcoming electoral competitions. The institution invites interested media outlets and observer organizations to review the procedures and regulations established for this purpose.
The relevant officials are invited to consult the CEP website to learn about the conditions to be met and the documents required for compiling applications. Complete applications, accompanied by duly completed and signed forms, must be submitted electronically to the addresses provided for observer organizations and media outlets.
The CEP specifies that applications will be subject to verification and analysis before the issuance of accreditation cards to journalists and organizations that meet the established requirements. This procedure aims in particular to regulate the participation of media professionals and observers in the electoral process.
In its press release published on August 11, 2026, the electoral institution reaffirms its commitment to conducting the process within an inclusive and impartial framework. It states its desire to respect the principles of independence, transparency, integrity, and democratic accountability.
