At CARICOM, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé reaffirms Haiti’s commitment to security and elections

Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé reaffirmed his government’s commitment to restoring security, strengthening institutions, and organizing free, credible, and inclusive elections during the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), held in Saint Lucia.

Before Caribbean leaders, he presented the progress made in the fight against insecurity, citing the recapture of several territories by authorities, the strengthening of security forces, and the advancement of electoral process preparations. The head of government also requested continued support from CARICOM member states, particularly for the renewal of the mandate of the Multinational Security Support Mission.

Finally, Mr. Fils-Aimé welcomed regional solidarity and reaffirmed Haiti’s desire to strengthen its integration within CARICOM, while expressing confidence in a gradual return to stability and democratic order.
