The Miami Herald reports that Haitian businessman Pierre Réginald Boulos was apprehended on July 17 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in South Florida. He was initially held at the Krome North Processing Center before being transferred to another federal facility in Homestead.
His name has not yet appeared in the ICE database, reportedly due to administrative delays affecting recent arrests. However, court documents indicate that he is scheduled to appear before Judge Jorge Pereira on July 31.
According to available information, the arrest stems from irregularities found in his application for permanent residency in the United States. Authorities suspect inconsistencies in the supporting documents submitted by Mr. Boulos.
The case is currently under review by the immigration court, which has not yet issued an official statement. Meanwhile, the entourage of the former Haitian presidential candidate has not released any public comment.
