
In May 2025, the Haitian National Police (PNH) seized 91 firearms, including several assault rifles, along with a notable quantity of ammunition. This monthly report also records the arrest of 102 individuals involved in various criminal activities.
PNH spokesperson Michel-Ange Louis-Jeune presented these results without providing figures on human casualties from clashes. Two laptops and sixteen communication radios were also recovered during targeted operations.
A strategic intervention was conducted in the stronghold of Vitelhomme Innocent by the DDO-West I unit, although no official details of the operation were disclosed. Images circulated online show officers operating in an area identified as the peristyle of the gang leader.
The PNH reported that several houses were searched, and new weapons were found in this sensitive zone. No confirmation was given regarding rumors that Vitelhomme was injured during the operation.
The gangs operating under the “Viv Ansanm” coalition act in groups of 50 to 60 individuals, primarily on weekend nights. Their crimes include kidnappings, arson, gang rapes, looting, and the use of civilians as human shields.
In Cap-Haïtien, the arrest of Jamesson Frédéric, alias Papè, revealed his involvement in at least four murders, including that of Commissioner Evangelot. Two other gang members, including one known as “Satan,” were captured in Limonade as part of this broad offensive.
