Uder Antoine Returns To The Head Of The Electoral Council

April 26, 2026

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has a new Executive Director.

In a note published Friday, the institution announced the appointment of Uder Antoine, who succeeds Philippe Augustin.

Already in office between 2016 and 2019 under the transition led by Jocelerme Privert, Mr. Antoine had organized the presidential and legislative elections of that period before resigning.

“The Council is counting on the collaboration of staff and all personnel to support the new Executive Director,” the statement noted.

His installation is scheduled for Monday, April 20.

This return comes at a crucial moment for the institution, which is responsible for organizing upcoming elections.

Uder Antoine’s experience, having overseen the 2016 elections, is seen as an asset in ensuring the proper functioning of the institution in a tense political climate.
