The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP in French) is officially launching, from March 2 to 12, 2026, the registration of political parties, coalitions, and groupings of political parties. The institution specifies that this operation is carried out in accordance with “Article 143 of the Electoral Decree of December 1, 2025.”
Parties will be required to submit a notarized founding act, the act of recognition, their statutes, as well as the minutes of the most recent general assembly or congress that appointed their executive committee. If the official representative is not present, a notarized document authorizing a proxy will be required.
Also required are correspondence from the Ministry of Justice confirming the party’s registration, the acronym and emblem in color, as well as a valid copy of the national identification card of the representative or proxy. The logo must also be provided on a CD or USB drive, in JPEG or PNG format, free of viruses.
Coalitions and groupings will have to present a notarized founding act specifying their statutes and objectives, along with the list of parties that signed a notarized agreement. A notarized document confirming the use of a single emblem will also be required. Each member party must provide the minutes appointing its executive committee, its registration correspondence with the Ministry of Justice, and its act of recognition.
