March 31, 2026

Chokarella announced, in a statement published on February 27, 2026, the release of Carel Pedre. The host is no longer in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and has been able to reunite with his family after several weeks of proceedings.

Arrested on December 21, 2025, in Florida, in Broward County, he had faced allegations of domestic violence that initially led to his placement in local detention. Following this phase, his case had been transferred to federal immigration authorities.

A case closed by the State

According to the information provided, the criminal aspect of the case followed the ordinary judicial process before being dropped on January 29, 2026, by the competent authorities. The State ultimately declined to pursue any charges, considering the matter closed from a criminal standpoint.

This outcome brings to an end a period marked by intense speculation and numerous public reactions. The official announcement aims to set the record straight and put an end to conflicting interpretations.

The media organization thanked the public for its restraint and support during this sensitive period, noting that all procedures were conducted under the strict supervision of attorneys. It also calls for strict respect for the host’s privacy, stating that any future communication will occur only if clearly necessary.
