In the United States, the trial related to the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse has entered its sixth week, marked by the return to the stand of Rudolph “Dodof” Jaar. During his testimony, he stated that he played a central role in financing the operation, claiming to have mobilized more than $150,000 to support the execution of the plot.
In detail, Jaar described a breakdown of the funds: $80,000 allocated to the USGPN, $30,000 to the CAT team, and $10,000 given to Badio. He also stated that he contributed to acquiring part of the arsenal used, specifying that he financed between 4 and 6 of the 26 weapons involved.
Meanwhile, former senator John Joël Joseph denied any involvement in efforts to obtain weapons, a claim contradicted by Jaar. Jaar stated that on July 5, 2021, he overheard discussions between the former parliamentarian and other Haitian senators specifically about sourcing equipment to carry out the attack.
