The Haitian National Police, supported by the Security Force against Gangs, claims to be continuing intensive operations in Artibonite, notably since March 31. Interventions carried out in Pierre Payen, Bois Neuf, and Jean-Denis have made it possible to dismantle barricades, engage in exchanges of fire, and force armed groups to retreat.
In the 3rd section of Dessalines, particularly in Bois Joux and Pont Joux, law enforcement says it is maintaining pressure to regain control of occupied areas. Several armed individuals reportedly fled towards Carrefour Rojé, while the hunt continues in mountainous areas.
But on the ground, reality remains relentless for residents who continue to suffer violence daily. Just Tuesday, the commune of Marchand-Dessalines was the target of a deadly attack resulting in several victims, according to local sources.
This gap between official announcements and the persistence of violence fuels deep skepticism. The question remains entirely: does a coherent security strategy capable of sustainably restoring order in Haiti truly exist?
