The escalating gang violence in the commune of Arcahaie has forced 21,770 people, or 5,384 households, to flee their homes between October 10 and 26, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
This large-scale displacement underscores the severity of insecurity in the region. IOM reports that 63% of those displaced have sought refuge with relatives in host families, while 37% have settled in ten emergency shelter sites.
The situation highlights the mounting humanitarian challenges posed by persistent insecurity in Haiti.
