Défenseurs Plus Demands Accountability Following the Death of Journalist Adams Ismo

The death of journalist Wesner Ismo, better known as Adams Ismo, continues to raise numerous questions. The director of Radio Ayiti Libere died on May 26, 2026, while in detention, under circumstances that have sparked concern among several human rights organizations.

The Défenseurs Plus Collective has expressed deep concern over the unanswered questions surrounding his death. The organization believes that the circumstances require a thorough investigation in order to establish the facts and determine any possible responsibility.

To shed full light on the matter, the collective is calling for an independent investigation as well as an autopsy. It is also urging the relevant authorities to take appropriate action against any individuals found to be involved, while emphasizing the broader implications of the case for the protection of fundamental rights and press freedom.
