Two hundred soldiers from the Haitian Armed Forces have been mobilized to support the National Police in stabilizing recently recaptured territories. Their mission is aimed at preventing armed groups from reestablishing themselves in these sensitive areas.
Additional reinforcements have been announced, with more troops awaiting deployment and equipment currently being acquired to improve operational capabilities. The military institution has also increased its level of engagement, moving from general mobilization to direct involvement alongside the police.
On the ground, soldiers are notably securing strategic public sites that have already been retaken. This operation is part of strengthened coordination between security forces to maintain control over reclaimed areas.
In the longer term, authorities are considering the creation of a joint force of approximately one thousand soldiers. At the same time, new recruits will be trained to sustainably reinforce personnel engaged in the fight against armed groups.
