On a trip to the Grand Sud region, the ambassadors of the European Union, Spain, and France, accompanied by the regional authorizing officer, visited the new Southern Transit and Orientation Center. Supported by UNICEF and IBESR (Kids and Social Welfare), this space is presented as “essential” to offer protection, care, and support to children in vulnerable situations.
On site, the delegation was able to concretely measure the effects of the partnership established around child protection. The diplomats notably observed how this initiative contributes to the “strengthening of protection services” and to better care for minors exposed to multiple risks.
At the end of the visit, the European Union reaffirmed its support for national institutions and international partners, emphasizing its desire to “ensure that every child in Haiti is protected.” This commitment is part of a continuity logic, as needs remain considerable in several regions of the country.
