Réginald Boulos Released After Eight Months in Detention in The United States

April 14, 2026

Haitian businessman Réginald Boulos was released this Tuesday in the United States after spending approximately eight months in detention. The information was confirmed by his brother, Roudolph Boulos, who spoke to the press.

The former parliamentarian also confirmed the authenticity of a photo circulating on social media showing Réginald Boulos alongside his daughter. The image, widely shared, helped confirm his release.

However, no official details have been provided regarding the country to which he may be transferred or authorized to travel. Sources have mentioned Mexico or Colombia, though neither possibility has been confirmed at this stage.

As a reminder, the former political figure had been facing accusations from U.S. authorities, who suspected him of links with armed groups in Haiti. His release comes amid ongoing uncertainty regarding the future of his legal situation and his movements.
