On February 15, the Haitian Consulate General in Paris launched the first phase of the “Konsila Mobil” initiative at Saint-Georges de la Villette Church. The operation enabled many Haitian nationals to initiate administrative procedures, particularly applications for the National Identification Card, a document required to obtain a passport.
Attendance was strong from the outset, with dozens of users submitting applications or receiving guidance. Consular staff, supported by technicians from the National Identification Office, handled registrations and provided procedural information.
For beneficiaries, the proximity initiative addresses the recurring challenge of traveling to the consulate. “It’s a relief to handle paperwork close to home,” one participant said.
A second day is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at the same location. Consul General Jean Jocelyn Petit encouraged nationals to bring the required documents, reaffirming the consulate’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Haitian diaspora.
