A video obtained by Listin Diario on the day of the excursion reignites questions surrounding the drowning of 11-year-old Stéphora Anne-Mircie Joseph. It clearly shows a teacher trying to check her vital signs while a teenage girl films the scene up close, with no emergency response structure visibly activated.
The footage also captures a visibly panicked boy whispering, “Dude, I’m going to get kicked out of school,” as he looks at the child’s motionless body. This spontaneous reaction, recorded in the background, reveals the confusion and sense of guilt that surrounded the pool area.
The scene unfolds beside a jacuzzi connected to a large swimming pool, where the child’s body is held in a seated position by a teacher. The video, recorded by one of the participants, confirms that the young girl was surrounded by numerous adolescents and supervisors, with no clear explanation of what preceded the tragedy.
Despite the seriousness of the facts and the lack of official answers, the school involved continues to operate normally. Regional Office 08 had concluded that the excursion was unauthorized, but no administrative sanction has been imposed to date, leaving responsibility unresolved.
Meanwhile, the Los Caballos ranch remains closed for multiple safety violations, while child-protection authorities remain silent. To date, magistrate Olga Diná Llaverías has not contacted the families to indicate whether the investigation is progressing or whether the minors present will be interviewed in a Gesell chamber.
