Motor Vehicle Agency Launches a Special Vehicle Insurance Regularization Campaign

October 12, 2025

The Office of Motor Vehicle Insurance (OAVCT in French) has announced a special insurance policy renewal offer, effective since October 6 and valid until November 3, 2025. In a statement signed by its Director General, Pierre Jean Raymond André, the institution invites motorists to take advantage of this opportunity to regularize their situation.

According to the announcement, vehicle owners whose insurance has not been renewed for three years will be able to do so by paying for only one year. Likewise, those whose policy has expired for five years will be allowed to regularize their status by paying for only two years.

The Directorate General notes that this measure aims to encourage road civility and clean up the national registry of insured vehicles.

OAVCT is closer to you, for better service,” the statement reads, referring to the institution’s commitment to improving the quality of its services.

However, the OAVCT specifies that starting November 4, 2025, vehicles that have not been regularized for more than five years will be permanently removed from its system. The names of the affected owners and information about their vehicles will be published in the national press.
