The police station in Bassin-Bleu, in the Nord-Ouest department, was targeted by an attack carried out by the “Kokorat San Ras” armed group. According to the Haitian National Police (HNP), “a tactically rigorous operation by its specialized units” made it possible to regain full control of the building.
The assailants had terrorized the locality before partially setting the station on fire. Their occupation was only temporary thanks to the rapid, coordinated response by law enforcement.
The HNPsaid sweep-and-secure operations are still underway in the area. These actions aim to restore “order, stability, and calm for the benefit of the local population.”
The Police High Command, led by André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, praised the “courage, professionalism, and determination” of officers in the field. The leadership also stressed the need to maintain pressure on criminal groups.
The PNH reaffirmed its resolve to pursue all those who threaten public peace. It pledged to relentlessly track down the armed gangs responsible for the persistent insecurity in several regions of the country.
