Carnage in Labodrie: more than 40 killed in a brutally violent attack

September 15, 2025

The village of Labodrie, located between Arcahaie and Cabaret, was the scene of a bloody attack on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Heavily armed men left more than forty bodies in their wake.

According to initial reports, the attackers are believed to belong to the criminal coalition Viv Ansanm. Their deadly action appears to be an act of retaliation following the death of their leader, known as “Vlad,” and several accomplices who were killed a few days earlier by the police and self-defense groups.

The area’s Director of Commune, Baptiste Joseph Louis, described a scene of horror marked by the assailants’ barbarity. He said that among the victims were children and a family almost entirely wiped out, while several missing people have still not been found.

Beyond the loss of life, homes were set on fire, plunging the population even deeper into distress. Terrified residents now live under the constant threat of armed men who control the area.

Despite warnings, no decisive intervention took place to stop the massacre. Witnesses report that the bandits publicly announced their attack more than a week in advance, fueling a sense of total abandonment in the face of the authorities’ indifference.
