While transporting reinforcements to Mirebalais, the Haitian government helicopter was hit by projectiles mid-flight. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, injured a police officer and forced the aircraft to be grounded, leading to the cancellation of all official flights outside Port-au-Prince.
This incident raises further concerns about the safety of government officials, who are already constrained by the chaotic state of the country’s road network.
