Prime Minister Garry Conille Chairs His Second Governing Council

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Prime Minister Dr. Garry Conille led his second Governing Council at the official residence in Musseau, Delmas. The main objective of this crucial meeting was to discuss the government’s roadmap, follow up on the recent government retreat, and develop a strategy for implementing the major projects of the political transition. 

Dr. Garry Conille reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the members of his Ministerial Cabinet in achieving the set objectives, emphasizing his determination to assist each minister in guaranteeing the success of government initiatives. 

Simultaneously, the Prime Minister met with officials of the Agreement of December 21, 2022. These discussions, part of a series of meetings respecting the spirit of the Agreement of April 3, 2024, aimed to address major projects of the political transition, including security, the constitution, elections, and the economy. This approach reflects a desire to solidify the political and economic foundations of the country during this transition period. 

On Monday, July 15, 2024, Dr. Conille spoke with officials from the Pitit Dessalines Party, including former senator Jean-Charles Moïse. The discussions primarily focused on elections, security, the economy, and the constitution, in accordance with the Agreement of April 3, 2024. This meeting aimed to achieve consensus on national priorities and ensure effective collaboration between the different political factions.
