OFNAC Facilities Targeted: Institution Promises Security and Rapid Restoration

August 25, 2025

The Directorate General of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC) has strongly condemned the acts of sabotage committed against its communication facilities in Kenscoff. It stressed that these incidents caused only “a minor disruption to air traffic,” thanks to immediate measures taken to ensure service continuity.

OFNAC further emphasized that “steps are underway to ensure the optimal restoration of the affected services as quickly as possible.” This statement comes as several local sources report new threats from gangs against technical equipment installed in the hills of Pétion-Ville, a strategic area for the capital’s and the country’s northern air communications.

Amid this climate of instability, Kenscoff remains a regular target of armed groups seeking to control sensitive infrastructure. OFNAC insists that “the security of air operations across the entire national territory” remains its top priority while awaiting the full restoration of the damaged equipment.
