Miradin Morlan Takes the Helm of the Presidential Cabinet

February 18, 2025

Miradin Morlan officially assumed his duties as Director of the Presidential Cabinet on Thursday, February 13, 2025, during a ceremony held at the Villa d’Accueil. A former Director General of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), he was appointed to this position on January 22 by the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT). He succeeds Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, who has now been named Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs.

During the ceremony, Miradin Morlan received his official appointment letter from the President of the CPT, Leslie Voltaire, thus formalizing his assumption of office. He pledged to work in accordance with the roadmap set by the Presidency to guide the country toward democratic stability. His mandate aligns with the timeline leading up to February 7, 2026, the deadline for the current transition.

Miradin Morlan’s appointment to this strategic position reflects a desire for continuity in the management of public administration while also injecting new energy into the presidential team. His experience at the helm of the DGI provides him with expertise in administrative and financial management—critical skills for addressing the institutional challenges facing the country.
