Joint Operation in Kenscoff: HNP and MSS Claim Control of Téléco Building Restored

August 27, 2025

The heights of Kenscoff were the scene of a large-scale joint operation carried out by the Haitian National Police (HNP) and the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission. The strategic Téléco site, which had been occupied for several days by an armed group, was retaken early Monday.

According to the forces involved, several individuals affiliated with the “Izo2” branch were neutralized. Significant seizures of weapons, ammunition, and various equipment were reported during the intervention.

Videos circulated on social media show the intensity of the clashes, notably depicting lifeless bodies lying on the ground. The violence of the operation underscores the authorities’ determination to restore order in this sensitive area.

The municipality, through Mayor Massillon, confirmed that the operation extended into the early afternoon to dislodge the last assailants. He praised the cooperation of the local population, describing it as a key element in the success of the action.

The gradual restoration of traffic and the dismantling of barricades signal a return to relative normalcy. This recapture highlights the intensified efforts to limit the influence of armed groups on the outskirts of the capital.
