June 19, 2025

On Tuesday, June 17, Haiti’s Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) arrested Medson Jean Louis, administrator of the Eben-Ezer Hospital in Delmas 33, for his alleged role in laundering funds for the armed gang Viv Ansanm. A police source confirmed that Jean Louis “served as an accountant for the Kraze Baryè gang,” led by notorious gang leader Vitelhomme Innocent.

The operation began at the hospital and continued later at Jean Louis’s residence in Delmas 43. According to preliminary reports, authorities uncovered “large sums of money intended for laundering” as well as medical supplies. Jean Louis is currently being interrogated by DCPJ investigators as they assess the full extent of his involvement.

Vitelhomme Innocent, leader of Kraze Baryè and a key figure in the Viv Ansanm alliance, is wanted for multiple crimes, including kidnapping, murder, extortion, and the recruitment of child soldiers. He is under indictment both in Haiti and in the United States, where the FBI has listed him among its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, offering up to $2 million for information leading to his capture.
