
Inspector General of Police Vladimir Paraison, head of security at the National Palace, was shot and wounded on Thursday evening in downtown Port-au-Prince.
He was leading an intervention unit against armed gangs attempting to seize control of the capital’s police station.
Hit in the knee, he was quickly taken into care, and his condition is reported to be stable, according to a police source.
