Haitian National Police Mobilized for Street Cleanup Ahead of Year-End Festivities

December 22, 2024

The Haitian National Police (HNP) is joining forces with the public to ensure a safer and smoother environment as the holiday season approaches. Through its Traffic and Road Police Directorate (DCPR), officers are actively participating in the cleanup of several major roads in the capital, including Carrefour de Christ-Roi and Bourdon. According to a statement released by the institution on Friday, this initiative aims to “facilitate the free movement of road users.”

The primary goal of this operation is to prevent road accidents and enhance citizen safety across the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. The HNP is committed to improving mobility and ensuring increased security during the festive period, a time characterized by heightened travel activity.

To highlight this initiative, the HNP’s Press and Public Relations Coordination (CPRP) shared video footage showcasing the involvement of officers in these collective efforts. This gesture, which symbolizes collaboration between the police and the community, underscores the commitment to fostering communal well-being.

By participating in these activities, the HNP demonstrates its dedication to extending beyond its traditional security mission. This mobilization serves as a reminder of the importance of cooperation between law enforcement and citizens to ensure a peaceful and safe holiday season.
