On the sidelines of the 55th regular session of the Organization of American States (OAS) General Assembly held in St. John’s Antigua and Bermuda, Haitian Foreign Minister Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste met on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, with the organization’s Secretary General, Albert Ramdin. The meeting laid the groundwork for stronger collaboration to address the urgent challenges Haiti faces.

Discussions focused on implementing a comprehensive action plan aligned with national priorities. “It is imperative to find urgent, effective, and sustainable solutions to the country’s security, humanitarian, economic, and institutional crisis,” the minister emphasized.

During the meeting, Mr. Ramdin invited the Haitian Foreign Minister to Washington for further strategic discussions. He also expressed his willingness to visit Haiti soon, aiming to strengthen cooperation between Port-au-Prince and the OAS.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed this positive diplomatic momentum. This approach is part of Haiti’s commitment to building solid partnerships to support the country’s stabilization and recovery efforts.
