The Haitian government has made a series of appointments to key positions within various ministries, aimed at strengthening the efficiency and coherence of public administration. Fifteen new directors general have been officially appointed, according to the decrees published in the official newspaper Le Moniteur this Friday, July 26, 2024.
List of Appointments
- Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC): Jean Garry Denis takes the reins, bringing his expertise in cultural and communication management to boost this vital sector.
- Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT): Ruthlande Anglade is appointed director general, responsible for strengthening local structures and coordinating community development initiatives.
- Ministry of Defense (MD): Jean Ronel Sistanis takes the helm with the mission of modernizing the defense forces and guaranteeing national security.
- Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF): Jean Bouco Jean-Jacques is appointed director general, bringing his financial expertise to stabilize and stimulate the national economy.
- Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP): Gabriel Thimothé is appointed director general, tasked with improving the health system and promoting the well-being of the population.
- Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP): Hyves Roblin is appointed to lead this key ministry, with the objective of reforming and improving education in Haiti.
- Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC): Mickelson Thomas takes over as director general, with the mission of promoting sports and civic activities among young people.
- Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI): Panel Paulémont is appointed to boost the country’s commercial and industrial sector.
- Ministry of Tourism (MT): Sinedie Sintyl Dupuy is appointed director general, with the objective of revitalizing and promoting the tourism sector.
- Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR): Elancié Moïse takes the helm, tasked with modernizing agriculture and promoting rural development.
- Ministry of the Environment (MDE): Joseph Emmanuel Philippe is appointed director general, with the mission of protecting and managing the country’s natural resources.
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE): Joseph Antoine takes the director general role, with the objective of strengthening Haiti’s international relations.
- Ministry of Religion (MC): Joël Turenne is appointed to oversee and regulate the country’s religious affairs.
- Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST): Marie Hérolle Michel is appointed director general, tasked with promoting social welfare and regulating labor.
- Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Women’s Rights (MCFDF): Sandy François takes the helm to defend and promote women’s rights in Haiti.
Additional Reforms
In addition to these appointments, two other decrees were published, establishing the Penal Reform Implementation Commission and appointing Jean Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste as Director of the CPT’s Cabinet. These reforms aim to modernize the Haitian penal system and strengthen the administrative efficiency of the Presidential Transitional Council.
