On the instructions of the Director General of the Haitian National Police (HNP), Divisional Commissioner Caleb Exantus formally installed Principal Commissioner Jean Jude Chery as head of the Saint-Marc police station on Friday, July 4, 2025. He succeeds Max Vital Altis, who has now been relieved of his duties.

Through this appointment, the Artibonite Departmental Directorate is strengthening its command strategy in this key post. “Principal Commissioner Jean Jude Chery is now responsible for security in this jurisdiction,” clarified the HNP press coordination team.

This change comes amid heightened security tensions in the Artibonite region, where several communes face growing threats from armed groups. Authorities hope that this new leadership in Saint-Marc will help bolster crime-fighting measures and restore public trust.
