Law enforcement officers have apprehended Duferson Jeune, alias “Sonson,” a man identified as an active member of the “5 Segond” gang operating in Village-de-Dieu. He was arrested by the UDMO unit in the city of Saint-Marc while attempting to blend into the local population.
During police questioning, “Sonson” admitted to participating in several criminal operations carried out by the gang, including incidents in the commune of Cabaret. His testimony sheds light on the gang’s activities extending beyond their usual territory.
The Haitian National Police (HNP), through its Press Coordination Office, announced that it will release a video containing the suspect’s statements. The arrest comes as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle active criminal networks across the country.
