In a statement released on July 3, the United States renewed its willingness to work with international partners to support Haiti. “The United States remains committed to working with the international community to advance the situation in Haiti,” the official message said.
The U.S. government expressed its gratitude to Kenya for leading the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission, deployed to respond to the surge in violence in Haiti. This gesture highlights the strategic importance Washington places on this operation, despite the many challenges on the ground.
The United States also praised the ongoing efforts of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) in fulfilling its mandate. “We continue to commend the efforts undertaken by @BINUH_UN to carry out its mandate in a difficult security environment,” the authorities noted.
This statement comes as Port-au-Prince remains gripped by extreme violence from armed groups, blocking any sustainable recovery. Through this renewed support, Washington confirms its determination to back the stabilization process, despite delays in the MSS deployment and the fragile context.
