Jack Ombaka, spokesperson for the Multinational Mission in Haiti, is urging donor countries to fulfill their commitments by providing heavy equipment to help restore security in the country. He stated during an interview on Radio Galaxie late April of 2025 that without the current intervention, Port-au-Prince would have already fallen under the control of armed groups.
Ombaka acknowledged the impatience of the Haitian population but emphasized the crucial need for international logistical support in order to make progress. He warned that without the necessary equipment, the mission’s goals cannot be achieved—despite the determination of troops on the ground.
He also noted the support already received from the United States but reminded that other countries have pledged to supply essential resources. These deliveries were promised during official meetings, and mission leaders remain confident that the equipment will arrive soon.
Regarding the Kenyan forces, Ombaka clarified that troop rotations are included in the agreements signed, especially for the contingent deployed in June 2024. However, the exact date for the next rotation has not yet been determined
