Strategic Changes at Finance Ministry, Tax Office and Others

March 31, 2026

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has initiated the first structural decisions of his government team with a series of strategic appointments. According to an official source, these choices mark the starting point of a reshuffle aimed at redesigning the State’s financial architecture.

At the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the head of government has selected Serge Gabriel Colin, who until now served as Director General of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES). This appointment immediately triggers adjustments within public institutions linked to financial management.

Kesner Romilus thus takes over the leadership of FAES, while Chesnel François is appointed to head the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), a key structure in the mobilization of tax revenues. This redistribution of responsibilities illustrates a desire to strengthen both budgetary and administrative levers.

These decisions come as the Prime Minister is attending a meeting of the Caribbean Community in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The finalization of the reshuffle is expected to follow his return to the country, according to converging indications within the executive branch.
