Small Plane Avoids Disaster During Emergency Landing In The South

A charter plane arriving from Port-au-Prince was forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026, in the Demion area of Fond Frède, in the immediate vicinity of Antoine Simon Airport in Les Cayes. The incident occurred as the aircraft was approaching its final phase of flight, according to corroborating reports.

On board were six people—five passengers and the pilot—who all exited the aircraft without injury. Witnesses at the scene confirmed that the crew and occupants were safe despite the severity of the maneuver.

The aircraft, a small plane operated by BOLT and registered N45SR, sustained significant material damage. The exact circumstances of the emergency landing had not yet been established at the time and are to be clarified by the competent aviation authorities.
