Former director-general of the National Education Fund (FNE), Ronald Joseph, says he was “surprised” by the wanted notice issued by the ULCC on November 10. From Canada, where he is undergoing medical treatment, he insists he has never attempted to evade authorities and questions the reasoning behind the decision.
His lawyers note that he left Haiti in February 2025, immediately after being replaced at the FNE. They state that his health requires regular treatment abroad, and that a formal letter dated September 18, 2025 was sent to the ULCC to explain his situation.
Despite this communication, Joseph says he does not understand why he was listed as “wanted.” He claims to have responded to inquiries through his attorneys and insists he has remained available, making the ULCC’s measure difficult to justify.
Joseph describes himself as a disciplined public administrator who has always acted with transparency. While reaffirming his willingness to cooperate, he calls for a neutral investigative process, free from misinterpretations or pressures that could distort the case.
