New Deadly Gang Offensive in Delmas 30

February 26, 2025

The night of February 24 to 25, 2025, was marked by an attack of rare violence in Delmas 30, where armed gangs, united under the banner of “Viv Ansanm,” spread terror. Eyewitness accounts report multiple summary executions, including that of an elderly man whose body was set on fire by the assailants. Among the victims, two members of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAD’H) are also believed to have lost their lives, adding to the severity of this deadly incursion.

The human toll continues to rise, with several individuals wounded by gunfire, including members of law enforcement. Injured police officers were rushed to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The scale of this attack heightens widespread concerns over the growing power of criminal groups in the Haitian capital.

At daybreak, panic gripped the residents of Delmas 30, forcing them to flee hastily in the face of intense gunfire and fires set by the assailants. Many are now homeless, wandering in uncertainty, while the fear of another offensive spreads to neighboring districts.

This attack once again highlights the expanding armed violence in Port-au-Prince and raises serious questions about the ability of the Haitian National Police (PNH) to contain these repeated assaults. The ongoing insecurity threatens thousands of lives and worsens the humanitarian crisis, as residents fear that the situation will deteriorate even further in the coming days.
