Leslie Voltaire and António Guterres Discuss the Haitian Crisis at COP16

On the sidelines of the United Nations Biodiversity Conference of the Parties (COP16) held in Colombia, Leslie Voltaire, President of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss critical issues such as insecurity and the humanitarian crisis in Haiti. 

Mr. Guterres emphasized the UN’s commitment to supporting efforts to combat these challenges, identifying them as key priorities for the country. Both leaders agreed on the need for coordinated action to improve security and humanitarian conditions, calling for continued international engagement. 

Leslie Voltaire, for his part, outlined TPC’s initiatives aimed at establishing peace and stability, which he noted are essential for Haiti’s sustainable development and the well-being of its people.
