Four cases of sexual exploitation and abuse involving members of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission were confirmed in Haiti in 2025, according to a report from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights obtained by AyiboPost.
Deemed “founded,” these cases were transmitted to the force’s command for disciplinary action.
The OHCHR spokesperson recalls that since the mission is not a UN one, the responsibility for sanctions lies with the contributing states.
This situation revives concerns related to persistent impunity, already denounced during previous operations, notably under MINUSTAH.
One confirmed case reportedly involves a Haitian minor. Despite the announced existence of reporting mechanisms, their effectiveness remains unclear.
These revelations come as the foreign presence in Haiti continues to intensify in a fragile security context.
