Cap-Haïtien, Haiti – On Thursday, February 27, 2025, Gérald Joseph, the head of the Brigade of Security for Protected Areas (BSAP) in northern Haiti, was assassinated.
According to local media, the victim was on the road to Madeline when armed individuals on motorcycles approached his vehicle and opened fire.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Some sources claim he was transported on a motorized tricycle, while others report that he managed to drive his vehicle after the attack.
Justice of the Peace Bimps Noel from Quartier Morin officially recorded his death. A police source stated that the victim’s car was riddled with bullets.
