A protest movement erupted on the morning of June 23, 2026, at Haiti’s General Customs Administration (AGD), where employees and contractors blocked the main entrance to the agency’s offices located at the customs facility of the international airport in Clercine. The action disrupted administrative operations from the early hours of the day.
The protesters stated that they wished to draw the authorities’ attention to several demands concerning their working conditions and professional situation. They are calling for concrete measures to address their concerns and improve the functioning of the institution.
Beyond internal grievances, demonstrators also denounced what they described as corruption practices within the AGD. According to them, these abuses undermine the credibility of the customs administration and compromise efforts to strengthen transparency in public administration.
