Carel Pedre Signs His Media Return After The Ordeal

April 4, 2026

Haitian broadcaster Carel Pedre broke his silence nearly one month after his release, in a video published on March 22, 2026.

Detained for 69 days by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) services, he reflected on an ordeal he describes as significant and meaningful.

In his message, Carel Pedre asserts that his arrest, which occurred on December 21, 2025, and his release on February 27, 2026, are part of a trajectory he now says he understands.

He expressed deep gratitude towards his family, loved ones, and supporters, highlighting their decisive role in his resilience.

A key figure in the media, he announces his imminent return to the airwaves, notably with his show Chokarella.

This return marks, according to him, a new beginning, guided by lived experience and a renewed desire to serve Haitian culture and society.
